ESOL
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Our ESOL courses are designed with settled communities and workers already living in Britain in mind (although all are welcome to join!) who want to learn English for further study, work or pleasure, or for those who simply want to be more effective and confident with their use of the English language.
Our part-time courses cover all of the key study areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, which are covered through tuition in the core sessions. Lessons are twice weekly in the evenings to fit around your busy life and schedule.
Regular homework and self-study activities are provided to help students to consolidate the knowledge they have learnt in class.
COURSE CONTENT
The teachers use a range of different methods and activities to help students learn and use the language more efficiently. In addition to a core course book, a range of supplementary materials and activities are used to provide additional practice.
We monitor students’ progress through reviews and mini-projects, which are designed to help the teachers to identify students’ learning needs and highlight progress.

COURSE OUTCOME
Students who successfully complete our General English course will be able to:
- Communicate more efficiently and with more confidence
- Use English language in different situations
- Continue with further English language education
- Continue with Business English preparation
- Prepare for some exams, such as Cambridge B2 First (FCE), Advanced (CAE) or IELTS
COURSE BOOKS
We use ESOL Skills for Life published by Education and Training Foundation, which are tried and tested materials and teaching resources for ESOL brought together from some of the most effective resources for ESOL available.
